About Me

"Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” --H. Thurman

Hey everyone!

My name is Karina.

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States.

I've had the luck of traveling far, wide, and often - to Zimbabwe, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Bosnia, Holland, Mozambique plus a few others.

I am passionate about human rights, education, equitable development work, and public health.

So, here I am. A Peace Corps Volunteer serving as a teacher in Mozambique.

It's hot, sweaty, frustrating, thrilling, and unbelievably life-changing.

Bucket baths. A straw hut for a house. No electricity. Celeb status with the village kids.

Welcome to the Peace Corps dream!

(Here's a little interview I did in 2012 for my university)
